CC to HP Formula
HP = CC × Conversion Factor
Where:
- CC: Engine displacement in cubic centimeters
- Conversion Factor: Engine-type specific (1.33% – 1.77%)
- kW: HP × 0.7457
For a 1000 CC motorcycle engine: 1000 × 0.0133 = 13.3 HP (9.92 kW).
How to Convert CC to HP?
To convert CC to HP, multiply the engine displacement by the appropriate conversion factor, Motorcycle: 1.33% (0.0133), Car: 1.77% (0.0177), General: 1.60% (0.0160). A 600 CC motorcycle engine: 600 × 0.0133 = 7.98 HP (5.95 kW).
For 1200 CC car engine: 1200 × 0.0177 = 21.24 HP.
A 250 CC motorcycle engine: 250 × 0.0133 = 3.33 HP.
With 2000 CC car engine: 2000 × 0.0177 = 35.4 HP.
What is CC and HP?
CC (Cubic Centimeters): CC is a measure of engine displacement, representing the total volume of all engine cylinders. Higher CC generally means more power potential. For example, a 1000 CC engine has a total cylinder volume of 1000 cubic centimeters.
HP (Horsepower): HP is a unit of power measurement, representing the rate at which work is done. One horsepower equals approximately 746 watts. It’s commonly used to express engine power output, though actual power depends on many factors beyond displacement alone.
